I sent a link to the You Tube video of "The View" from yesterday to the Home School Legal Defense Association. The following is the reply that I received.

I watched the clip.
Joy Behar has made many silly and offensive comments on a range of subjects and her thoughts on homeschooling were certainly confusing. She managed to malign homeschooling in general but at the same time advocated for a form of cooperative home-based education for the Obama's. When coupled with Elizabeth's defense of homeschooling I think this is why Joy's comments haven't gained any traction. A show like the View needs a provocative bomb thrower to try to get ratings and Joy fits that role.
I don't think there's a need for HSLDA to comment but I certainly support individual homeschoolers making their voices heard (as you appear to have done on that You Tube thread).

Very well put, I thought. And all the more reason that I will no longer be watching "The View." I never really watched it, like, everyday or anything... but I would stop & catch it every so often when I had a chance. (So if there's any chance Joy Behar apologizes this week, someone let me know!) I'm seriously going back to my consideration of getting rid of the television.
In the meantime, I'm going to crawl back into my little cocoon with my demented kids and live out the stereotypical home school lifestyle that everyone seems to be okay with... NOT! :-) LOL!

That's a good response, I guess. I'm not interested, really, in lots of drama and calling to account, but I would probably handle it better if I felt the attack weren't so direct against my children. Pick on me; not them.
I do wish Elizabeth would study some debate tactics--I don't think she held her ground as well as she could have, but I appreciate her efforts.

I don't watch The View or any other network daytime TV. That stuff will make you dumber for watching it. In fact I haven't seen much TV at all in the last 6-7yrs.
